It was 1965 when Gruppo Franza decided to venture into the shipping business, setting up Tourist Ferry Boat, a maritime transport company which, together with its Calabrian counterpart Caronte, represented the first real alternative to the Ferrovie dello Stato state railways in the Messina/Reggio Calabria maritime connection.
Thanks to its decade of experience in the real estate sector, Gruppo Franza is able to cope with any project requirement, relying on specialised professionals in the construction, industrial, legal, administrative and marketing fields.
All the hotels owned by Gruppo Franza are managed by Framon Hotels S.p.A., a small hotel chain with a great history. A story that began in the 1990s with the construction of two hotels and a residence in Messina, and that in less than 20 years had Framon managing over 24 4- and 5-star hotels throughout Italy, 13 of which in Sicily alone. Today it manages 5 hotels: Royal Palace Hotel, Grand Hotel Liberty, Hotel Less Sables Noir, Hotel Carrasco, Hotel Grotta Azzurra.
